VERSION 22 – NEW FEATURES
Update of Ergo/IBV in accordance with ISO 11228-1 (2021). Ergonomics-Manual handling. Part 1: Lifting, lowering and carrying. International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
The standard affects the following modules:
Manual material handling:
Single MMH
Multiple MMH
Variable MMH
Sequential MMH
To summarise, the standard introduces:
- A more detailed population classification, differentiating between Men and Women and introducing an “Age Group” variable which primarily affects the Loading Constant (LC).
- A three-person operation factor.
- The concept of Extended Time.
The amendments to the standard completely modify the ISO Mode, incorporating risk factors that it did not previously include ( i. e. two-person operation and one-handed operation) plus those listed above. It also introduces a new calculation formula for tasks involving transport.
